CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's soccer team secured its second win in three games on Saturday evening at Clark Field, defeating Emmaus University 6-0 in a non-conference matchup. The Kohawks were held scoreless for much of the first half but
Jase Havlik scored the opener, picking up the ball just outside the box before a deflected shot looped over the keeper's head and into the goal. The Kohawk men piled on in the second half, extending the lead in the 67th on a goal from
Jake Keebler before adding four more in the final 10 minutes. Havlik scored his second of the evening in the 80th minute before
Jonah Lasselle, Nolan Loftin and
Hunter Brown finished the scoring in the final six minutes.

- Havlik found his name on the scoresheet again, getting a stroke of fortune as his shot was deflected by a defender, knocking the pace off the ball and changing the trajectory as the looping attempt beat the keeper. Lasselle helped start the second goal of the match, floating the ball into Keebler inside the box before the freshman settled and smashed it past the keeper. Coe's third goal came from Havlik again, this time taking a pass from Valentin Lobos in the center of the pitch before smashing home from 25 yards out with a lethal strike. Lasselle got in on the goal-scoring fun in the 84th, starting the flurry of goals for Coe with a cross-goal finish as the freshman made it 4-0 with a left-footed strike that squeaked past the keeper into the far corner. Loftin scored with a bit of individual brilliance for the second time this season. He took a pass from Havlik from outside the box and later ran past his defender before hammering a left-footed strike into the corner. Brown capped off the scoring with another stroke of luck for Coe, seeing an attempted cross skirt under the foot of two Emmaus defenders before tapping home for 6-0.
