A three-time outstanding Coe female athlete award finalist and the 1997 winner, Beth Cook burst onto the Kohawk swimming and diving scene with a school record in the one-meter dive as a freshman. By the time she graduated in 1998, Beth was a five-time national qualifier and had won six Midwest Conference championships in the one- and three-meter dive. She was an honorable mention All-American her junior year.
Her school-record scores in the one-meter (six and 11 dives) and 3-meter (six and 11 dives) all stood until 2009 and she remains second all-time in each event. A native of Aurora, Colorado, Beth came to Coe because she wanted to do more than dive. A Presidential Scholarship recipient, she majored in business administration and psychology. She served on the Volunteer Bureau at Coe and participated in Sigma Beta Delta business honorary fraternity, the Coe Student Alumni Association and the Student Activities Committee. She worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Business Department and was a lifeguard in the Coe Natatorium.
Beth is a human resources business partner with BP Oil and Gas in Chicago. She also serves as president of the Coe Alumni Council.
