Along with his twin brother and fellow 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Patrick Jackson ’03 was a football and track star at Coe.
As a defensive back for the Kohawk football team, Patrick was a two-time, First Team All-Iowa Conference honoree. He was named to the All-West Region first team by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette in 2002. With 213 career tackles, he is tied for ninth in school history with seven interceptions in 2001. He tied a school record with three career blocked kicks.

In track, Patrick was a two-time All-American as a member of the 4x100-meter relay team, which finished fifth at the NCAA Championships in 2002 and 2003. Patrick, his brother, Fredrick, Trey Tyner and Milton Lanier set the school record with a 41.26 at the 2003 national meet. That record still stands, along with the 1:29.98 time in the indoor 4x200-meter relay the foursome recorded in 2002. He earned All-Iowa Conference honors for that event in the 2003 indoor season.

After graduating, Patrick played semi-pro football for 12 years with the Sioux City Bandits, Cedar Valley Vikings, Iowa Lightning and North Iowa Bucks, which inducted him into its hall of fame in 2016.

A residential officer at the Department of Correctional Services, Patrick and his wife, Mary Allison Jackson ’03, live in Ankeny, Iowa. His twin brother, college teammate and roommate, and fellow sociology major who took every class together at Coe, is now his neighbor.
