Kayla Waskow, Class of 2013, played a pivotal role in shaping one of the successful eras in Coe College women’s basketball history. A standout athlete, she earned first-team All-IIAC honors four times and graduated as the program's all-time leader in points (1,538) and rebounds (695), while also ranking sixth in assists (318). Kayla was recognized as the IIAC MVP in the 2011-12 season, leading the Kohawks to an impressive 21-8 overall record and a second-place finish in the league. She was instrumental in two NCAA Tournament appearances, guiding Coe to its only postseason victories in the program’s history. Notably, she was a key member of the 2011 Sweet 16 team that triumphed over Minnesota-Morris and Howard Payne, and she helped secure a first-round victory against UW-River Falls in 2012. Kayla currently serves as the head coach of the women’s basketball program, continuing her legacy and impact on the sport at Coe.
