Paige Stamp Telecky was as dominating a softball player as has ever worn the crimson and gold. She was a three-time all-Iowa Conference selection at Co from 1998-2000 and earned NCAA Division III First Team All-American honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in 2000. She compiled a 57-26 record on the mound at Co and now ranks fourth in career pitching wins and innings pitched. She was also a .375 career hitter for the Kohawks, sixth on the school's all-time charts. During her senior season at Coe, Paige posted a 27-5 mark and a 0.97 earned run average while guiding the Kohawks to a share of the league championship and a berth in the 2000 NCAA Division III Tournament. As a junior, she went 25-9 with a 0.85 ERA. She led the nation with 10 strikeouts per seven inning game as a sophomore -her first season at Coe after transferring from Division I Illinois-Chicago. She is one of just two Kohawks to record more than 300 strikeouts in a season and held the career strikeouts record until this spring. Paige also lettered in basketball her sophomore year, averaging 3.6 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Kohawks. Paige was one of the most dominant high school pitchers in Iowa state history. She was inducted into the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union's Softball Hall of Fame in 2001. Paige still holds single-season state records for ERA (0.04 in 1994) and strikeouts (590 in 1996).Paige and her husband, Kyle, live in Mount Vernon with their four children. She coaches pitching for the Cornell College softball team.
