With a career record of 927-366, Bob Timmons retired in 2014 with the second most wins in NCAA Division III history. He is one of just three coaches in the division with over 900 career wins. His 552 wins in 17 seasons leading the Kohawk program are the most in school history. He previously coached 12 years at Mount Mercy University, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000. He was inducted into the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Iowa Men’s Fastpitch Hall of Fame in 2003.

Coe advanced to the NCAA Regional Championships in 13 of his 17 seasons, including trips to the NCAA Division III National Championship Series in 2006 and 2009. The 2009 squad finished second in the country, the highest finish of any team in Coe College athletics history.

A four-time Iowa Conference Coach of the Year, Bob led the Kohawks to four Iowa Conference titles. During this time, Coe had nine Iowa Conference MVP’s and nine NFCA All-Americans.

“Bob Timmons epitomizes everything a coach should be,” said former player and long-time assistant Diane Meyer ’85. “He’s honest, has a high level of integrity, he’s a teacher, a fighter for his student-athletes, and just a really great guy who truly bled crimson for 17 years.”

A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Bob got his start in softball as a player in the Cedar Rapids Major Open fast pitch league playing for Welty Way and Modern Piping.
